Use a plug-in system if you:
  • Intend to power your system from existing plug-outlets
  • Have plug-outlets inside/above your cabinets that are wired to a wall-switch 
  • Desire the lowest-cost system
Use a hardwire system if you:
  • Want to dim your system from a traditional wall-switch dimmer
  • Need to control your lights with a home lighting-control system (Lutron, Crestron, Vantage, etc)
  • Have electrical wires stubbed out underneath your cabinets
